Learning To See

1 Week - Online Group Immersive Photography Course

I believe that photography is so much more than gear and settings - it’s a full-body experience. Our camera offers us a tool that enables us to truly see the world around us. Every photograph we make is a reflection of what’s within. When we open our senses to all the abundance that surrounds us, our photography journey is enriched, becoming a never-ending journey of self-discovery. Through this “Learning To See” online photography course, I will teach you how to develop these abilities for yourself so you, too, can feel the wellbeing benefits that photography can bring while connecting more deeply with the world around you.

“Slow down and be amazed by what you will see.”

Begin The Journey

Treat yourself to the Learning to See journey. During the week, you will be invited to weave personal exploration with group sharing. Each day, a new topic will be covered, opening your eyes and mind to the wealth of photographic opportunities that surround you.

The Learning to See course is designed to bring many benefits your way, not just for your photography but also for your life in general. The exercises shared will encourage you to feel a greater connection with yourself and the world around you, reducing stress and anxiety while enhancing creativity.

Seeing the world is not purely a visual pursuit. It involves engaging all of your senses. Doing this allows you to explore your interests and channel your emotions into your images, leading to heightened impact and depth in what you create.

Learning to See the world through slowing down and observing has had a profound impact on my development as a photographer. I am excited to share what I have learnt together in this course to teach you how to do the same.

  • I enrolled in the 'Learning to See' course to enhance my observation skills and I learned so much more than I expected. I found the schedule frequency of 5 days in a row to be energizing and I was inspired by the group conversation of the daily exercises. I discovered new ways to experience nature for my own wellbeing and photography. Learning to gently immerse myself in a setting and concentrate on my senses allowed me to bask in the sights, sounds, scents and feelings of nature I never noticed before. I feel empowered by the content of this course and learning to choose subjects that generate feelings for myself allowing me to see and experience nature in a whole new way.

    Deanna - Michigan USA

  • The Course was great in opening up my eyes and other senses to really engaging in what is around us. I loved hearing from fellow course members about their experiences. It was very inspiring and helped encourage me in my own Learning to See journey. I really loved the final catch up where we shared images.

  • Kim Grant’s, “Learning to See” was a delightful learning experience. Each lesson was well designed and covered internal and external applications of the lessons, which I found to be a well rounded execution of what was being taught. I have found that by using the connections of the five elements of the course lessons, I am acquiring valuable learning tools to help enhance my creative approach to photography and the quality of my photographs. Kim has designed a well focused blueprint to that end.

I appreciate that life can be busy. I have designed this course to share small and manageable ways that you can incorporate the art of seeing into your daily life.

While it is advised to attend each session to get the most out of the course, I appreciate some days you may have other commitments. Each session will be recorded and emailed out to you after it has finished. You will, therefore, get the chance to rewatch or catch up on a session if you cannot attend. The sessions will begin with a group discussion before introducing the theme of the day. A 10-minute exercise will be shared at the end of each session. Each exercise is simple and can easily be integrated into your day. Once the final session has been delivered, you will be invited to head out over the weekend and create images using the exercises shared during the week. You can use all that was shared or choose the session and exercises that spoke to you the most. We will then meet for a group image-sharing session the following week to share what we have created. All exercises shared during the week can be taken forward and implemented into your life to help you see and connect with the world on a deeper level.
